For a Singapore PR application photo, LTVP photo, Student's Pass photo or citizenship application, ICA's document checklists ask for the same thing: a recent coloured digital photograph of 400 × 514 pixels with a white background, showing your full face.
ICA photo requirements for passes and residency
| Digital size | 400 × 514 pixels |
|---|---|
| Colour | Coloured digital photograph, taken recently |
| Background | White |
| Face | Full face, front view |
| Headgear | Not allowed, unless habitually worn for religious or racial customs. It must not hide your facial features. |
| Editing | Must not be altered or enhanced |
These are the same rules as the Singapore passport photo, so one compliant photo can be used across ICA applications as long as it is recent.
Singapore PR application photo
The PR application checklist lists a recent 400 × 514 pixel colour photo with a white background. Submit it with the other documents on the checklist when you apply.
Citizenship application photo
The citizenship document checklist uses the same wording: a coloured digital photograph taken recently, 400 × 514 pixels, white background and full face, with headgear allowed only for religious or racial customs.
Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) photo
For an LTVP issued by ICA, for example for spouses or parents of Singapore citizens, the document checklist again asks for a recent 400 × 514 pixel colour photo on a white background. LTVPs for the family of work pass holders are handled by MOM instead. See our work pass photo guide.
Student's Pass photo
International students applying for a Student's Pass need a recent, passport-sized colour photograph taken within the last three months. Upload it at 400 × 514 pixels.

Changing the photo on an issued Student's Pass means applying for a replacement pass, which costs money. Check your photo carefully before you submit.
Your university or polytechnic student card has its own photo rules. See our student card photo guide.
